Solution: Augmented Reality
A leading B2B engineering firm was pitching to install a uniquely designed lift within a closed structure (Battersea Power Station chimney in London) and the client visualising the solution was key to winning the bid.
A tablet based Augmented Reality (AR) App using 3D models and animation was designed to help visualise the semi-circular lift as well as how it would operate within the chimney. The key aspect that the company wanted to demonstrate was the ability to rescue passengers in case the lift broke down. This was demonstrated very clearly using AR techniques combined with 3D animation. Further, a 360 degree panoramic view was built in to help visualise the view from the top of the tower (and the benefit of the glass based lift design).
