A global social media and technology company needed to raise privacy compliance awareness across its fast-growing, highly diverse workforce. Rapid adoption of AI and digital tools increased exposure to data privacy risks, while tightening international regulations carried the threat of significant financial penalties and reputational damage.

The company needed an engaging, scalable, and memorable way to help employees: 

  • Understand global privacy principles and regulations. 
  • Recognise and prevent data privacy risks in daily work. 
  • Embed a culture of privacy protection, rather than mere box-ticking compliance.

A Netflix style portal presents complex data privacy topics, exploring the human impact through bite-size stories set in different contexts

SiyonaTech partnered with the client to create PrivacyFlix, part of the innovative Compliance Quest program.  ‍

Cinematic learning design – Each of the ten shows adopts a different entertainment style (from Wild West trailers to TED Talks), bringing complex privacy topics like AI governance, data minimization, and privacy by design to life. 

  • Immersive gamification – Learners complete branching scenarios that simulate real-world privacy challenges and earn badges for making the correct decisions. 
  • Adaptive, ask-don’t-tell approach – Instead of rote instruction, employees learn by making decisions, receiving feedback, and seeing the consequences unfold. 
  • Flexible, global rollout – Hosted on the company’s learning platform, PrivacyFlix is accessible worldwide on any device and designed for a multilingual, multicultural workforce.

This playful, story-driven design turned compliance learning into something employees actively looked forward to, while ensuring critical privacy knowledge was absorbed and retained.
