A global reinsurance and financial services company set an ambitious goal: achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. To succeed, every employee needed to see their role in the climate journey—not just as abstract policy, but as daily action.

  • Boosting voluntary engagement – Previous eLearning struggled to capture attention and spark conversation.
  • Encouraging teamwork around sustainability – The company wanted climate responsibility to become a shared, collaborative commitment.

SiyonaTech and the company created Cooler: A NetZero Game—a story-driven, team-based digital quest that transforms climate learning into a collaborative adventure.

Key features:

  • Mystery narrative – Teams race to recover a legendary missing artwork by solving climate-themed puzzles.
  • Three levels of challenges – Number-, word-, and image-based puzzles require critical thinking and real-world research.
  • Gamification with urgency – A moving timeline from 2024 to 2050 adds pressure to reach net-zero before time runs out.
  • Real-world learning links – Players consult the company’s Sustainability Report and NetZeroYou2 resources, ensuring practical understanding beyond the game.
  • Inclusive design – Teams of up to five work together, while a single-player version offers flexible access.
